The first day in Washington!

Today I got up at 9 o’clock and after I went to the train station of Philadelphia. After 2 hours I arrived to Washington D.C., the capital of the United States. At 11o’clock I arrived to Washington and after I went to the Mayflower hotel. At 12 o’clock I went to the hotel’s restaurant and I had lunch. In the afternoon I went to the President's Park, a big park where is located the White House, a palace where the President of the United States lives and works. I couldn’t enter to the White House but I saw the façade of it. I was very excited when I saw the palace. After I went to visit the National Gallery of Art of Washington. The National Gallery of Art has one of the finest art collections in the world. European and American paintings, sculpture, works on paper, photographs, and decorative arts are displayed in the collection galleries and Sculpture Garden. The National Gallery of Art was created in 1937 for the people of the United States of America by a joint resolution of Congress, accepting the gift of financier and art collector Andrew W. Mellon. It was very beautiful because there were paintings from all the world. At 19.30 I exited from the museum and I looked for a restaurant. At 20 o’clock I found the Makoto restaurant, a Japanese restaurant in 4822 Macarthur street. After I returned to the hotel. Now I’m going to bed because I’m very tired.
