The second day in New York

Today I got up at 9 o'clock and I had breakfast in the hotel. At 10.30 I took a boat and I went to Statue of Liberty, a robed woman holding a torch, and is made of a sheeting of pure copper, hung on a framework of steel with the exception of the flame of the torch, which is coated in gold leaf. It stands atop a rectangular stonework pedestal with a foundation in the shape of an irregular eleven-pointed star. The statue is 46 m tall, but with the pedestal and foundation, it is 93 m tall. The statue, also known affectionately as "Lady Liberty", has become a symbol of freedom and democracy. She welcomed arriving immigrants, who could see the statue as they arrived in the United States. There is a version of the statue in France given by the United States in return and inside the original one there's her torch. I climbed 354 steps and I arrived to the crown of the statue. I saw all the city, it was very exciting and the landscape was beautiful.
I return to Manhattan by boat and I had lunch in Sushi Yasuda, a japanese restaurant in 204 E 43rd St. In the afternoon I went to Ground Zero, the place where there were the twin towers. On September 11, 2001 at 8:46 a.m. Eastern Tower, Al Qaeda suicide hijackers crashed Americam Airlines Flight 11 into the northern facade of the North Tower.
